iso job recs - a queer anti-networking event

what’s iso job recs?

iso job recs is intended to bring folks together who are curious about alternative careers, potential employers, and in the best case scenario, want/can provide referrals for open roles at an organization. All job types welcome!

what makes it a “queer anti-networking” event?

As members of the LGBTQ+ community, Amy + Rachel understand how exhausting networking can be in heteronormative, white dominant spaces. Everyone wants something from one another, but no one will name it. We also know how hard it can be to confirm a place is actually safe for LGBT+ & BIPOC employees. At iso job recs, we curate a format that takes away the guesswork and (hopefully) answers your most burning question: should I even apply here?

Caveat: We can’t promise that you’ll land your next gig, or that you’ll even find a place that’s hiring. We can offer authentic community building, real conversations, and an opportunity to learn about the Chicago employment landscape.

This event is hosted indoors, masks not required but encouraged in the library space.
